The latest creation from two giant Chicago institutions: Dennis Farina and the Steppenwolf Theater Company. Farina (Get Shorty, Out of Sight, Law and Order) gives the finest performance of his career as an aging hustler whose way of life is at a crossroads in this film shot in Chicago’s West Town neighborhood. Written and directed by Festival veteran Joe Maggio and featuring members of the Steppenwolf ensemble, The Last Rites of Joe May is a prime example of the vitality of Chicago filmmaking.

STARZ "BOSS" PREMIERE

Emmy award winning actor Kelsey Grammer with new wife Kayte

"Boss" The new Series from Starz network which was filmed here in Chicago at the CineSpace studios in Pilsen held it's premiere last night. The show was created by Farhad Safinia and directed by the amazing Gus Van Sant.

We are really looking forward to this series in which Kelsey Grammer plays fictional Chicago Mayor Tom Kane. Connie Nielsen plays his wife in the series, Rotimi plays Darius. The other actors in the series are: Kathleen Robertson, Hannah Ware, Jeff Hephner, Martin Donovan, Francis Guinan, Rotimi Akinosho, Troy Garity

Congrats to Northwestern University Alum and up and coming singer Rotimi on being cast in this series which has been picked up for a second season. Make sure to catch Boss when it premieres October 21.

STAND UP FOR FAMILY CHICAGO SCREENING

Stand Up for Family a comedy special that was conceptualized by American Family Insurance hosted its premiere party here in Chicago. The event was held at the Vertigo rooftop lounge of the Dana Hotel and it was well executed. The purpose of this project, which is in it's second year, is to "present an outlet for clean entertainment the whole family can watch and enjoy" said Michelle Huff whose Huff Ent was in charge of public relations for the project. Bill Bellamy of Last Comic Standing will host the comedy special which features comedians Rodney Perry, Donnell Rawlings, Tony Roberts, and Mark Viera.

 Guests in attendance included: Adrienne Samuel-Gibbs of Ebony Magazine, Bill Bellamy, Darnell Rawlins,Raijean Stroud, Tony Roberts, Rodney Perry, Lil Rel, Chris Crawford and Emilio Ayala of Vital, WEEN co-founder Valeisha Butterfield, Mitzi Miller of Jet Magazine, Art Sims, Dwayne Maddox Regional Media Mgr. for American Family Insurance, Niena Drake, Kiratiana Freelon, Dr. Renee Matthews, Errol Dunlap, Anika Jackson, Jeffrey Beckham, Michael Kolawole,
 Royale Watkins who MC'd the nights' festivities.

DJ Sadie Woods got the crowd warmed up and DJ Commish wrapped up the night.
Sandi Robinson and Matt McCahill of Dana Hotel were also instrumental in making it a successful night!

WHAT'S YOUR NUMBER?

"What's Your Number?" Starring Anna Farris and Chris Evans held its world premiere in California last night. The move is about a woman  who looks back at the past twenty men she's had relationships with in her life and wonders if one of them might be her one true love.

Gilt City Chicago is hostign an advanced screening of the Movie on Sept. 27.

"What's Your Number?" opens nationwide Sept. 30

NYC PREMIERE & LAUNCHES

NY was the scene of two fabulous parties last night. The premiere of the new documentary "God Save My Shoes" which looks at the intimate relationship between women and their shoes.
